About Me

Hi I’m Nathalie Torres, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the creator of Therapy for the Anxious Mind. I understand that there can be a shortage of clinicians who focus on treating anxiety, OCD, and trauma/PTSD, which is why I’m here to help. My approach is very team-oriented, and my goal is to assist you in finding the best solutions for your needs. You can expect a warm, genuine, and supportive experience in our sessions, along with practical tools to help you overcome any hurdles that come your way.

For my education, I obtained my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California, and I studied Psychology and Human Development at Cal State Long Beach for my bachelor’s degree. I have 8 years of experience working in the mental health field through research settings, community outreach work, and a state psychiatric hospital. Currently, I work at Harbor UCLA where I have been trained in various therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure. I have also received training by attending an intensive workshop on Exposure and Response Prevention through the University of Pennsylvania and I am a certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Prolonged Exposure Therapist. Aside from my direct clinical work, I also serve as a field supervisor at Harbor UCLA and train graduate students on how to conduct various treatment modalities. Lastly, I have been invited as a guest speaker for graduate classes and have given lectures on OCD and exposure therapy.

Outside of my professional work, I love to cook new recipes, go to concerts, and spend lots of quality time with my loved ones and dogs.
