What Is CBT?

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) aims to help people become more aware of how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical sensations all impact each other. Without this awareness, a vicious cycle that your anxiety feeds on can play on repeat. Maybe you have noticed a pattern of overthinking, doubting yourself, fearing of things not coming out perfect, or imagining worst case scenarios that cause you to panic. You simply notice that your thoughts are negative. CBT helps teach practical tools on how to identify patterns you are unknowingly engaging in that are causing you to feel stuck and helps you challenge your negative thoughts to adopt a more balanced perspective. 

Who Does CBT Work for?

CBT works well with those who feel tormented by anxiety and as a result feel in a low mood. Anxiety can sometimes convince us that every bad thought that enters our mind is a fact, which in turn can keep us fearful of when the next panic attack will hit, cause us to not form friendships due to feeling socially anxious, or feel persistently in a worry trap. 

Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a good fit for those who are goal-oriented, want to learn skills and overall, just want practical strategies that you can use in your daily life. It involves heavy practicing in between sessions to reinforce new skills. We will identify what exercises fit into your lifestyle!
